In December 2025, the Faculty of Education was honoured to host Professor Jolanta Jonak and Professor Georg Tolczyk from the Department of Special Education and the Department of Literacy, Leadership, and Development & Special Education at the Daniel L. Goodwin College of Education, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, as visiting professors.
During their visit, Professors Jonak and Tolczyk engaged extensively with our academic community through numerous meetings, study visits, seminars, and collaborative discussions with faculty members and students. Their presence enriched our intellectual environment and fostered valuable exchanges of ideas and practices.
On the 9th of December 2025, a meeting was held between the visiting professors and representatives of the Dean's Council: Professor Alicja Korzenieckа-Bondar, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor Marta Kowalczuk-Walędziak, Vice-Dean for Research and Internationalisation. The meeting was also attended by Professor Urszula Wróblewska, Dean of the University of Białystok Branch in Vilnius, and dr habil. Bożena Tołwińska, who served as the academic host for the visiting professors.
During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for developing long-term academic collaboration and exchanging experiences in the fields of education and research. All participants emphasized the value of joint initiatives that can enrich both teaching activities and research projects on both sides.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Professors Jonak and Tolczyk for their inspiring contributions to our Faculty and look forward to continued collaboration between our institutions.
