Invitation to lecture by Edyta Tamošiūnaitė from Mykolas Romeris University (Vilnius, Lithuania)

The Department of Comparative Education kindly invites students and academic staff to a guest lecture by Edyta Tamošiūnaitė from Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius. The lecture will take place on April 16th at 3pm in room C2.2. During the lecture, topics related to the education of national minorities will be discussed, including the role of mother tongue languages, multilingualism, and the importance of schooling in shaping national identity, using the Polish-Lithuanian context as an example.

Edyta Tamošiūnaitė is a PhD candidate at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, a Lithuanian politician and local government official. She is Lithuania’s former Vice Minister of Education and Science and a long-time social activist involved in education, intercultural dialogue, and the rights of national minorities – especially the Polish community in Lithuania.
